Exclusive: Harris County to require masks in public for 30 days as coronavirus nears peak
In Texas, the County Judge is the chief administrative official for county government. I met Lina at a Harris County Democratic Lawyers Association meeting. She is very young and was helped by straight ticket voting in 2016 and Hillary carrying Harris County. I was surprised and happy when she won. While the prior county judge did a good job during Harvey, there were concerns. Lina has pleased me with how she has handled some issues such as county wide voting and a couple of plant fires/explosions.
During the COVID crisis, Lina has been working with Mayor Turner and has been doing a good job even though Texas is being screwed on getting testing. Today, Lina Hidalgo is trending on my twitter feed due to issuing an order for mandatory masks while in public

The nut jobs/trump supporters are going crazy and want to revolt. If you want to have fun, search Lina Hidalgo on twitter and you will see some pure hatred that makes me smile.
I am high risk and I have been wearing a mask when I go out (even to the drive through window for my pharmacy where I am separated by a glass window). My daughter wears a mask when she shops and masks are a good idea. The reaction to this order is really amusing to me.
