If you decided to avoid Galveston on Saturday after Gov. Greg Abbott's order reopened the island's beaches, you likely missed out on sitting in a lot of traffic.
People flocked to enjoy the surf and sand - and beautiful weather. Beaches reopened Friday, May 1 after being closed since March 29.
Saltwater Recon captured video showing heavy traffic at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Seawall and 28th. The Houston Chronicle reports that officials had to warn some people about social distancing, but said most people seemed to abide by guidelines.

(112,085 posts)but the last time I went to the beach was when I was about ten years old. I didn't even go there for Spring Break in college. I prefer the hills, trees, and clear springs/rivers where I can dip my feet.
But I don't like beaches anyway
All that salt and sun are nasty
I would rather go to a lake

(3,797 posts)I live in suburban Houston and Im going to be at the pharmacy or grocery store ( the only two places I go) and Im sure these fucktinis wont be wearing masks. I always wear mine.
