Is Trump in Trouble in Texas

Abhi Rahman, a communications director for the Texas Democrats, said changing demographics in the state, the Republican leadership’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and a “general disdain for Trump” are changing the way Texans plan to vote.

“There’s really never been a better time to be a Texas Democrat,” he told The National. “We think we are going to win across the state in November.”

I just threw 100 bucks at them last week. There are many Dems running for the state house and we stand a chance of at least flipping the house blue.

we weren't in the middle of a pandemic and one of my jobs disappeared and one of them became both unprofitable and too dangerous to continue.

I was a substitute teacher but that disappeared and probably won't be back. Even during a normal school year, they don't usually need substitute teachers until about a week after school starts. And I was driving for Uber but not only was I not making money but I was afraid I would catch the virus. I'm 61, overweight, asthmatic and borderline diabetic.

Then my $600 a week unemployment was canceled. We'll see what happens. Not everyone can afford to contribute to political campaigns.

I also agree with you that returning as a substitute teacher is a risky profession at this time. Sometimes the only thing that we can contribute to a political campaign is our vote.

I hope things get better for you because it is going to be a challenging time for everyone if they don't restore the unemployment benefit.

I just retired from teaching myself, but with a horrible pension I was planning on subbing to help out but not any more. I hope things look up for you.

They would normally take Texas for granted. Even if they manage to retain Texas, that is going to require expending resources that won’t be available for the normal swing states.
