Thousands of Texas students and staff have tested positive for COVID since school started

New information from the Texas Education Agency and the Department of State Health Services shows that around 0.2 percent of students and staff who have participated in on-campus activities have contracted COVID-19.

The data provided by schools varies by district, however, and there's a possibility we may not know full number of cases throughout the state.

“The data will provide an overview of the burden of disease in Texas schools over time and inform public policy decisions about COVID-19,” a TEA press release stated.
