At this point in the election cycle, the deep-pocketed Republican National Committee has poured three times as much money into Texas than its Democratic counterpart, a new data analysis shows.
Amid big spending to influence the outcome in key swing states Texas could be one this year the RNC has transferred $2.4 million to its Lone Star State affiliate, according to a review of filings by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. That total includes a record $1.3 million transfer made in August.
In contrast, the Democratic National Committee has flowed just $796,000 into Texas this election cycle.
The RNC's Texas cash outlay raises questions whether it's worried about letting the once reliably red state's 38 electoral votes slip away, according to the report. Recent polls show Donald Trump ahead here by an uncomfortably narrow margin.

(111,964 posts)but it would be nice if the DNC threw more money this way considering that not only are the margins tight in the presidential race, but that flipping the Texas House could result in another half-dozen Democratic U.S. House members by correcting the gerrymandering done by the GOP. It would be a good investment for the next 10 years.

(220 posts)Hi,
I live in one of the deep Red counties in Texas and there are some cracks in the foundation. There are more Blue signs out here than ever before. That does not mean they last long. The Rethuglicans have an active campaign to destroy them, but we are making them know we are here.
As for the signs being destroyed, in 2018 I walked into the local barbershop I visited & the barber & a man i know that is an avid Rethuglican were talking about their little squad of sign destroyers that he sends out. Once they heard me, they shut up. I sat down and made a comment about free speech, waited a couple of minutes then got up & walked out never to return.
