Dancers at strip clubs in Texas soon might have to add something to their attire: a state license to do their job.
State Rep. Bill Zedler, R-Arlington, has filed a bill to require employees at sexually oriented businesses - including dancers - to get a license and display it while working.
The conservative lawmaker said he hopes the measure, if it passes, might encourage women to find another line of work.

(7,672 posts)Surely an all-purpose license wouldn't be enough? How about categories, like topless only, tranny only, all nude, all nude with contact, t-shirt and panties with a dollar tip limit - hey, there must be a thousand ways to do this, and surely Zedler will want to make sure he really knows all about all the kinds of dancers there are, right?
Thank Gawd the Lege doesn't have anything important to do, like insurance for Texans, education, water, roads, or anything like that.
After they finish with the dancers, I propose moving on to licensing state legislators - perhaps they can wear their license on a headband? Grade them, like "Pure jackass" "total idiot" "woman-hater" "vagina control freak" - see? the possibilities are endless, and I can assure you that the Lege is far more dangerous to Texans than a bunch of women dancing for a living, showing what you can see in any R movie.

(111,313 posts)You're giving me motivation to go commit a crime so that I'm sent to Huntsville so I can make those licenses for the legislators! And I know this may offend someone, but I think that you left out "douchebag" on your list in the final paragraph.
