(112,142 posts)Tasing and arresting someone in a traffic stop seems a bit over-zealous. However, when I use to drive through that area I paid extra attention and used my peripheral vision because several modes of transportation (bikes, scooters, skateboards, motorcycles, cars, buses, and trucks) were used by the students. It does place an additional burden on drivers because the area is so active.

(54,770 posts)on a major, busy highway. After sirens, etc., I stopped and officer informed me that I was supposed to ride against traffic.
I explained that is not correct, that I was riding right on the edge so as not to impede traffic and was riding about 25 - 30 MPH which would be dangerous against traffic. He said he would arrest me if I continued riding with traffic. I sat down and told him to call backup because I wasn't riding against traffic on that highway.
His supervisor got there -- again with sirens and lights -- and all but kicked the young officer's rear for being so stupid and wrong. I thanked them and proceeded.
Clearly, Texas police were being similarly stupid and abusive. Glad nobody was seriously injured.
