Rick Perry Snubbed on List of 2016 Contenders, Makes Unrelated Vile Statement on Gun Control

The only person that doesn't seem to know Rick Perry is a looooooooooooser is Rick Perry.

You may remember a great blog called GOP12 which tracked the GOP 2012 primary. Founder Christian Heinze has started a new blog, Prez16, for obvious reasons. And Heinze has just released his list of early 2016 contenders. The two Texans on it are both not named Rick Perry: Julian Castro and Ted Cruz.

That's because it's a reasonable blog. Only 29 percent of Texans want to see Perry run for governor again. How many want to see him run for president in 2016? That would be 19 percent. That's right. 19 percent. And yet Governor Oops hints repeatedly at running again in 2016.

Rick Perry is in the news not just for his absence but for his vile presence in the gun control debate. In response to President Obama's gun control announcement on Wednesday, Perry released a statement saying that "to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally."

Perry said:

"The Vice President's committee was appointed in response to the tragedy at Newtown, but very few of his recommendations have anything to do with what happened there.

"Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.

"There is evil prowling in the world - it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be. Laws, the only redoubt of secularism, will not suffice. Let us all return to our places of worship and pray for help. Above all, let us pray for our children.

"In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president."

Neither does fingers by your logic. No gun, we would have 20 children alive today. By the way OOPS, what have you worked towards in Texas to handle mental health issues, you don't eve want to set up the state program to take care of low income folks which falls below the 133% level. Do t brag on yourself and how great you would be as president, tell how you balanced your budget with stimulus money.

Abbot fights dirty also and this would be a fun primary to watch. I hate to admit that I was at the same law firm as Greg back in the 1980s
