Think McClennan County TX COVID-19 reports incorrect

Would love some fresh eyes on this before I make a big stink about it

Website, click on menu, then
Health District Report

https://covidwaco.com/

They only report new cases each week and only show the previous two weeks.

Then their trend graph shows total new cases per month. July 2021..just over 100?

The total cases are 29,062 but the totals for the graph show much less. If the entire total is supposed to be shown on the graph it’s a monthly average of 174.

Monthly Average of daily new cases?

Here's the daily snapshot from yesterday.

Either way, very shoddy work in my humble opinion. Done graphs for years & I can't imagine putting one out there without at least a couple explanatory footnotes. Especially something of such importance and for so many eyes to see.

beginning, it infuriates me. I know Rebekah Jones(she was fired during the Trump admin for telling the truth) site, is the best/but she's only able to work with the numbers available to her. I think several states have less than accurate numbers. Rebekah Jones site.

To hide numbers from their citizens, to make themselves look better.

In Texas, you really have to dig to find the number. It used to be posted on the top page of their website. Now, you have to go down a couple levels on the menu to find it.

Geez, where is 60 Minutes, like it was a long time ago? They would pop in on someone and expose them. And it was all everyone talked about on Monday morning.

Are people wearing masks?

My husband came home from work yesterday and said that his boss tested positive and his sister's friend who they had just had dinner with tested positive. ALL people were vaccinated.

Thankfully, his bank instituted a mask policy at work, yesterday. It shocked the hell out of me but it made me so happy.

during the last peak. They acted strongly and quickly. Now they don't even require that their staff wear masks. Walgreens, who by they're very nature, should care about health, removed those plexiglass partitions at checkout. What the f ?

We are involved with the fair and rodeo here. Planning a big event mid September. They are expecting maybe 800 people. They never even once have talked about contingency covid planning.! It's unbelievable. I've already decided I am going to help a lot but no way am I going to attend a super spreader event like that.

They're holding the boat races here this weekend. In the best of times, it's mainly river rats and local RWers with $100,000 boats themselves.

Fortunately, they do the team drinking down at Johnson Park and not the local restaurants.

The latest figures out of CDC indicated a 64.1% increase nationwide in new weekly cases.

So the McLennan County figures are not that far out of line.
