"Minor" elections

In Texas, this November's election is about 8 proposed constitutional amendments and local elections, like city council or school board.

We live in a Central Texas school district. Even though it's supposedly a nonpartisan election, everyone knows who's who. After all, according to their Facebook pages, one of the candidates is committed to the use of ivermectin and similar "cures" for COVID. The other is a member of Texans for Choice, by which he means choice to abide by safety precautions (masks, social distancing, vaccines), not abortion.

I'd hoped the sane folks would turn out and vote in other candidates, but I'm not sure that is happening. My husband ran into one of the good candidates while walking our dogs this morning. He's very worried. He's getting texts saying, "F* you! Trump won!" and they are seeing a larger percentage of names who vote R turning out so far.

He asked us to please ask everyone to GO VOTE in this "little" election.

intend to get ourselves out and VOTE here in Albuquerque. I encourage everyone,
wherever you are, to get out and vote in ALL elections. Let's vote like our lives depend
on it, because they do.
