Related: About this forumI almost had a chance to ask Ted Cruz a question...
This evening at about 7:15 p.m. a telephone call came into the land line of my deceased father's home in Brenham where I reside. Since I have my own cell phone, I usually am hesitant to answer that phone because in the past there have been Republican pollsters, sales or charitable drives. I've even discussed with my brother (having the land phone removed since we are living on a tight budget and the phone has been a source of some of our arguments (he also has a cell phone).
Anyway, I listened to the call and found out it was Texans for Fiscal Responsibility holding a press conference and live interview with Senator Cruz. They advised callers with a question to press "0" to be placed into the queue for questioning the senator. I pressed the "0" and rushed back to my computer to run a search DU on what our members would like to ask the senator and finally I decided on questioning him about why he did not volunteer for military service in the first Gulf War. The question would have fit in well at the end because Cruz talked about his recent visits to Afghanistan to visit the troops.
Most of the comments by the senator related to eliminating Obamacare, supporting Gov. Perry for turning down Medicaid expansion and the recent filibuster by Senator Rand Paul. Of course, the people who asked questions fawned over Ted Cruz like he was the second coming of Christ and most of Cruz's responses blamed Democrats for all of the problems of our country.
Unfortunately, the interview segment only lasted an hour so I wasn't able to ask my question. However, since the land line of our house is on the GOP hit list, I wanted to see if I could get some more questions from DUers for either of our senators or for the governor in case I am so "fortunate" in the future to be selected.
Try to make the questions something that I can segueway into without having the phone call cut off. Thanks DUers--I love you!

(15,681 posts)you would be cut off mid sentence if you took my question. I can't wait to see some more legitimate responses for you to use, though. I'll be checking back. I hope you get the chance to ask him one.
