DUBLIN — Volvo Trucks executives said Tuesday the company has made it through the tough economic times that caused mass layoffs in 2007. They say truck demand is back and Volvo is poised to count the most sales it has in years.
The news comes on the heels of two major announcements this summer as Volvo said it would invest $69 million in new equipment and hire 200 additional workers at the Dublin facility.

The 1.6-million-square-foot plant in Pulaski County is the largest Volvo truck manufacturing facility in the world. Assembly-line workers here put together and paint cabs for every Volvo tractor-trailer on North American highways.
