Rocket Launch From NASA's Wallops May Be Visible In D.C.Sarah Anne Hughes in News on Oct 27, 2014 10:00 am
The launch of the Antares rocket from NASAs Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia may be visible in D.C. this evening.
Orbital Sciences rocket which "will carry Orbitals Cygnus cargo spacecraft, loaded with some 5,000 pounds of supplies and experiments, to the International Space Station" is scheduled to launch at 6:45 p.m. today. Weather permitting, D.C. should be able to see the rocket approximately 180 seconds after launch. Coverage of the mission begins at noon and will be live-streamed here.
ETA, just before noon, additional links and maps.
