It's like opening a bag of Utz sour cream and onion ripple potato chips. Once I get started, I just can't stop.

Eugene Delgaudio likens Sheriff Chapman to Saddam Hussein

Friday, Apr. 3, 2015 by Trevor Baratko

Loudoun Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling) continued his PR campaign against incumbent Sheriff Mike Chapman (R) Thursday in typical Delgaudio fashion -- by tying together Chapman and former Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein.

In an April 2 Twitter update, Delgaudio wrote, “#saddamhussein Returns? Nostalgia @BullElephant Exposes Bully Tactics Against Opposition in Va.” before linking to a post on The Bull Elephant blog titled, “Does Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman Ever Get Sick of Being Wrong?

The post on the conservative blog, written by Jeanine Martin, attempts to portray Chapman as a bully. Martin, who describes herself as a 20-year Republican activist, appears to be backing Chapman's challenger, former Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Noble.

Delgaudio, who is known for what he calls “hyperbole alerts” and fervid anti-gay language, said his tweet was “just trying to make someone laugh” and turn out delegates to the May 2 GOP primary.
