Loudoun County’s new Board of Supervisors sworn into office

Several hundred community advocates and friends of the new Loudoun Board of Supervisors celebrated Saturday morning as their rookie and returning supervisors were sworn into office at a convivial celebration at Lansdowne Resort.

Shifting away from four years of one-party rule -- all Republican -- the new Board of Supervisors is comprised of six GOPers and three Democrats. They are: Chairwoman Phyllis Randall (D-At Large), Ralph Buona (R-Ashburn), Matt Letourneau (R-Dulles), Geary Higgins (R-Catoctin), Suzanne Volpe (R-Algonkian), Ron Meyer (R-Broad Run), Tony Buffington (R-Blue Ridge), Koran Saines (D-Sterling) and Kristen Umstattd (D-Leesburg).

This morning's event was the first time all new supervisors were ceremonially sworn-in together, according to Randall. Previous years' swearing-ins were divided by party.

Don't worry about Eugene; he's keeping busy. Now he has time for this:

Yep: religious feelings being butthurt by a Marine. Figured Delgaudio would like that. CurtEastPoint Jan 2016 #1
