It continues ...
Emphasis mine.
AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) UPDATE (Mar. 1):
According to the Augusta County Sheriff's Office, a protest planned by a militia group against Nexus Services in Verona has been canceled.
The protest organizer, who Sheriff Smith declined to identify, released the following statement:
"[Due] to the recent information that I have received for the coming event that was planned for March 3 2018 I will be canceling the event Anyone planning to still come to Verona Va. on March 3rd is advised not to do so. This event is officially canceled on my behalf. It is with respect to my City and County that you do not come. If you chose to do so it will be on your own behalf.
Nexus employees had been working in response to the planned protest to organize counter-protesters for a rally at the same time.

More story follows at the link, not much different from my earlier posts of this information.

(22,340 posts)1. Some background might help
I looked up Nexus Services and found the following :
About Nexus Services Inc.
Nexus Services, Inc. is a privately held company, based in Verona, Virginia. Nexus Services, Inc. is the parent company of a unique family of companies, both for-profit and charitable, that deliver cutting-edge products and services to meet the needs of migrants and their families, including free legal advocacy and making financial commitments to free the undocumented from immigration detention.

So are the militias opposed to this, and believe the threat of violence is necessary to counter these services?

(17,422 posts)3. There is some background in earlier posts in this group (Virginia)
My understanding is that specifically, bail and monitoring services for immigrants are what upsets this particular militia(s).

(17,422 posts)4. You are quite welcome. I'm a little late with this one.
We were blacked out by the windstorm. Keeping up with the news was difficult and a lower priority than keeping warm and fed.
