From BlueVirginia: Sen Warner and Kaine oppose Barr nomination

Senators Warner, Kaine Announce Opposition to William Barr Nomination for Attorney General

Warner cites serious concerns over Barr's "independence and Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation"

By lowkell - February 12, 2019

He’s probably going to be confirmed on a party-line vote, but regardless, I’m glad to see both Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner opposing Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, William Barr. I agree completely with the reasoning by Kaine and Warner.

First, here’s a statement by Sen. Kaine – “I will oppose the nomination of William Barr to be Attorney General. I have deep concern, based upon the memo he wrote the Trump Administration and his testimony before the Judiciary Committee, about his views on the Mueller investigation and whether he will make sure its full results are shared with the public.”

Second, see below for video of Sen. Warner’s statement and press release on why he’s opposing Barr – mostly due to serious concerns over Barr’s “independence and Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,” but also Barr’s policy views on things like Trump’s “Muslim ban,” LGBTQ equality, women’s reproductive health care, etc . . .
