3 Wash. Safeway Stores Get Cocaine In Banana Boxes

WOODINVILLE, WA — Workers at three Washington Safeway stores recently found close to $1 million in cocaine packed inside banana boxes, according to KING 5.

The shipments were sent to stores in Woodinville, Federal Way, and Bellingham. The King County Sheriff's Office told KING 5 that the shipment in Woodinville weighed about 50 pounds and was worth over $500,000.

Bellingham police said 50 pounds were also sent to a store in that city, and that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency was investigating.
