Some Life Care Center residents moving to hospitals for coronavirus treatment

Several residents of the Life Care Center nursing home in Kirkland that's at the center of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the state have been moved out of the facility.

King County Executive Dow Constantine said Friday there are currently 69 residents at Life Care and 15 of them were transported to area hospitals overnight for treatment.

“The health and safety of all of our residents, but particularly those residents of the Life Care Center of Kirkland are our highest priorities,” said Constantine.

Since the outbreak was first declared on Saturday, several residents have died from COVID-19 and others have tested positive for the virus.
