Wells Fargo closes Seattle branch after employee tests positive for COVID-19

Wells Fargo temporarily closed a Seattle bank branch Tuesday after an employee there tested positive for the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19.

The branch at 4009 E. Madison St. has been cleaned multiple times following public health guidelines and is expected to open again “as soon as possible,” Wells Fargo said in statement.

“All employees based in the 4009 E. Madison St. branch were in prolonged, close contact with the affected individual and have been asked not to come into the office in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” the statement said.

Wells Fargo officials said the employees will be compensated during the time they are unable to come to work.
