Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Cascades, rain-snow mix reported in lowlands

Winter is giving us a chance of a rain-snow mix in portions of western Washington, along with a Winter Weather Advisory in the Olympics and Cascades.

Friday morning, rain from King County south to the Oregon border is expected. An estimated 0.25 inches could fall.

With that, there is a chance of a rain-snow mix, especially from Olympia south and near Port Angeles. Ground temperatures are too warm for any accumulation on pavement.

Areas south of Seattle and along the Strait of Juan de Fuca were receiving a light rain-snow mix by 7:40 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
