Court trials suspended in Snohomish County due to COVID-19
EVERETT The coronavirus outbreak is delaying due process in the criminal justice system. Felony and misdemeanor criminal jury trials in Snohomish County are suspended until at least April 24, and civil jury trials in Superior Court are delayed until at least June 1, according to an emergency order filed Friday.
That means people dont have to report to jury duty. Defendants and everybody involved in a given case will have a longer wait.
Snohomish County District Courts also issued emergency proclamations.
Many criminal hearings also are canceled for defendants who are not in jail. Many family and domestic motions will be handled by telephone.
