Ste. Michelle Wine Estates closes its tasting rooms and wineries in three states

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has closed all of its wineries and tasting rooms to the public effective immediately. This includes all the company’s properties in Washington, Oregon and California.

SMWE President and CEO Jim Mortensen said that the action was taken out of an abundance of caution for staff, guests and the general public and did not announce a set date as to when these properties might reopen to the public.

“We will continue to closely monitor the conditions in each of the communities where we operate and will continue to follow the guidance of public health authorities," Mortensen said in a statement. "This pandemic is truly an extraordinary event, and we believe it is our responsibility to act decisively in the best interests of the communities where we work and live."

In Washington that includes 14 Hands Winery in Prosser, Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, Northstar Winery and Spring Valley Vineyard, both in Walla Walla, Col Solare Winery in Benton City and Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson.
