Former Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan diagnosed with skin cancer

Former Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan announced that he was recently diagnosed with skin cancer.

Ryan revealed the news in an episode of the “Growing The Game with Ballsy” podcast, which was released Sunday. He said the cancer, which is on his neck, appears to be manageable.

Surgery to remove the spot has been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I was supposed to have surgery last week to remove the spot, but the coronavirus had that canceled,” Ryan told the podcast. “Luckily, it’s a pretty slow moving cancer that the doctor is very confident he can wait until after this coronavirus thing has passed through to be able to operate on.”

He wasn't the best punter in team history, though he was quite good, but he was the most fun to watch play.
