Under Inslee's stay-at-home order: What's allowed and what's not?

Gov. Jay Inslee's "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order issued Monday to stem the spread of COVID-19 curtails all "non-essential" businesses and activities for at least two weeks. The order requires Washington's more than 7 million people to stay home unless they are taking care of essential needs like shopping for groceries, going to a doctor’s appointment, or working at an essential business.

In Washington state, more than 2,200 cases of COVID-19 have been identified, and there have been at least 110 deaths. The number of confirmed cases in Kitsap as of Tuesday was 21.

While some of the dos and don'ts of Inslee's order are clear, the fine-print list of allowed commerce and services is 14 pages long and covers a broad array of "essential critical infrastructure workers." Kitsap County prosecutors on Tuesday were working to interpret the document in the event they are called on to enforce the order.

Meanwhile, people chilling at home are wondering if they can get supplies for that gardening project Inslee encouraged, what to do if the toilet backs up and whether they can get Fifi's nails clipped. Here's how to navigate daily life while the stay-at-home order is in place.
