'Nothing can stop Easter. Nothing': But it will be live-streamed in Washington
The Palm Sunday tradition, in many Christian churches, is processing to fill the pews singing verses of a great hymn with the refrain "All Glory ,Laud and Honor, to thee redeemer king," and later multiple persons in roles reading the Passion Gospel tell of the betrayal and crucifixion of Jesus.
It was eery this Palm Sunday, to hear the hymn, but see St. Mark's Cathedral on livestream empty but for a tiny contingent of Episcopal clergy and tiny choir in front of the mighty Flentrop organ. Or to see Catholic Archbishop Paul Etienne, a lonely guy at the altar of St. James Cathedral.
Even moreso from Rome, with Pope Francis and a dozen or so in the vastness of St. Peter's Basilica.
With the worldwide spread of the coronavirus, we in for a live stream, virtual Holy Week, the centerpiece of Christian faith and worship, the time when new believers are received.
