Puget Sound-area Boeing workers heading back to work amid pandemic

SEATTLE - Thousands of Boeing employees are heading back to work this week in the Puget Sound region.

The aerospace giant announced Thursday that its workers would be returning after a temporary shutdown in production because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Boeing says the company will be implementing several safety measures for employees heading back to the assembly plants around Puget Sound.

While some employees remain optimistic, others posted their skepticism online, saying they'll find out how effective the measures are when they clock in.

Boeing says their 27,000 employees in the Puget Sound area are ready to go back to work.
