Metro enacts 12-18 passenger limits on buses amid COVID-19 precautions
SEATTLE -- King County Metro will now limit buses to just 12-18 passengers, depending on the size of the bus, in an effort to keep enough distance between people on board.
Going forward, just 12 passengers will normally be allowed to board 40-foot buses, while 18 will be allowed on 60-foot buses, the agency announced Wednesday.
If there are less than those amounts on board, drivers will allow passengers to board at the next stop even if they will temporarily exceed the limits, though passengers will have the option to wait for the next bus.

Once a bus reaches that limit, it will pass subsequent stops until enough passengers disembark to drop below the limits. Drivers will change the destination signs on buses to alert when a bus is at capacity.
