Whatcom health department reports four more coronavirus-related deaths Thursday

The Whatcom County Health Department reported on Thursday, May 7, that four residents who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

No other information about any of the deaths was released by the health department.

Those deaths bring the county’s total to 31 deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic and represent the first deaths linked to COVID-19 reported by the health department since April 28. It is also the largest single-day increase in the county’s coronavirus death total since six were reported April 6.

The health department reported two new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of Whatcom residents to test positive for the respiratory illness to 328 since the first case was reported March 10.
