Lakewood Asks Residents To Weigh In On New Fireworks Restrictions

LAKEWOOD, WA — Lakewood City Council wants to hear what the public has to say about a new set of fireworks restrictions.

Currently, the Lakewood only allows fireworks to be shot off between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 3 - 5 and on New Year's Eve. Under the new proposal, restrictions would be tightened so fireworks are only allowed on the 4th itself and New Year's Eve. If the council votes to approve the restrictions, they would to into effect starting next year.

But before they vote, they want to hear from the public by June 1.

Residents can send comments online by emailing City Clerk Briana Schumacher at bschumacher@cityoflakewood.us. Offline, letters can be mailed to the City of Lakewood at 6000 Main St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Letters should be addressed to Briana Schumacher as well.
