King County accelerates reopening some commercial activity under modified plan

King County residents may soon be able to dine in outdoor restaurant spaces, go shopping and even get a haircut.

King County Executive Dow Constantine on Friday announced that, pending state approval, the county will begin to reopen some business sectors to limited activity.

The county has not yet met key criteria to enter Phase 2 of the state plan, and case counts are still unstable. So, Constantine will move forward with a modified approach.

“Thanks to the people of King County, whose united efforts have flattened the curve and saved thousands lives, we are ready to continue safely, carefully reopening our economy,” Constantine said in a news release.
