Booking.com to close its Bellevue office as pandemic hits online travel, hotel businesses

Online travel and lodging company Booking.com said Thursday it will cut 235 jobs and close its Bellevue office.

The company, owned by a holding company that operates online travel purveyors Priceline and Kayak, announced the cuts in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) its officials filed with the state Employment Security Department today.

In the notice, the company said the layoffs begin Saturday.

Washington state employment officials said that staff from the local rapid response team and WorkSource employment center will reach out to employees of the organization being laid off to ease their transition.
