Winter snowpack starts accumulating in Cascades this week

Our winter snowpack could begin accumulating in the Cascades this week, beginning Monday afternoon.

The snow level across the Cascades will be down to approximately 2,500 feet, which is below all major passes in the north and central Cascades.

The National Weather Service predicted 6 to 8 inches of snow for Stevens Pass and 8 to 12 inches for Snoqualmie Pass.

The snow level will remain in the 2,500-foot range Tuesday.
