Food banks see big increase in demand during pandemic, before Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is now less than two weeks away and some food banks are seeing a bigger demand this year because of the pandemic.

Some food pantries are even in need of help themselves.

So many people are out of work because of the pandemic. And that means more people that need help. This Thanksgiving, several food banks tell KOMO News they really don’t know what to expect

Elijah Jones made a quick stop at Northwest Harvest SODO community market Friday to some fresh produce and staple foods.

2. Dropped off a ham and turkey

yesterday at food bank for Thanksgiving needs.

As I mentioned in another recent post, I've volunteered at this food bank for 10 years. Since March we have seen double the amount of families in need, and not just for food. Please, please consider donating $$$ to your local food bank unless they make a specific request for certain items.

4. Irony is,

many of today's users of the Panty were before the Pandemic the largest contributors to the Panty's.

With 20% unemployment,mostly Hospitality and Gig workers,this is getting worse by the day.
