Washington officials warn coronavirus transmission 'exceedingly high' days before Thanksgiving

In the middle of September, Washington was reporting an average of fewer than 400 new coronavirus cases per day.

On Monday, Washington reported a three-day cumulative case total of 6,277 -- an average of more than 2,000 new cases per day.

With just days to go before Thanksgiving, Washington state health officials are once again warning that disease transmission is "exceedingly high" and the state is in a "very dangerous time of this pandemic."

“The epidemiologic curve tells the most crucial part of the story, which is that our disease transmission is skyrocketing,” State Health Officer Kathy Lofy said.
