UW to require all employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by fall
The University of Washington will require all of its employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by fall, the university announced Thursday.
The notice comes after the university said last month that all students must be vaccinated by the fall term. Many colleges and universities around the country and in Washington state are requiring students and staff to be vaccinated, including Washington State University.
UW had about 49,000 employees as of June 2020.
“Widespread vaccination is the only real way we can put the Covid-19 pandemic behind us and return to a more normal way of living, learning and working,” President Ana Mari Cauce said in a blog post to staff and students last month.
