City of Seattle to offer 100 free Day In Day Out tickets at Welcome Back Week vaccination clinics
In an effort to get more young people vaccinated against the coronavirus, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced last week that the city is partnering with Daydream State which produces the annual Capitol Hill Block Party to offer COVID-19 vaccinations ahead of this year's inaugural Day In Day Out festival in September.
The first 100 people to receive either their first or second dose of the vaccine at this weekends grand opening of Welcome Back Weeks will be awarded one-day passes to the new music fest at the Seattle Center.
Due to our incredible success on vaccinations, we can come together again and celebrate everything that makes Seattle the best city in the country, including our concerts and festivals," Mayor Jenny Durkan said in a news release. "Even with our widespread vaccinations, we see some groups lagging behind, including our young people. Our goal with this partnership is to inspire new young people to get vaccinated, protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19, and see a great show at Seattle Center. I encourage all those who still need their first or second dose of vaccine to visit our Welcome Back Weeks, get vaccinated, and get a free ticket to the Day In Day Out music festival.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) will be on-site at the citys Welcome Back Week clinics to provide doses of the Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer iterations of the COVID-19 vaccine. If receiving a second dose, proof of the first dose will be required. If a person is in need of a first dose, fire department personnel will help schedule a second dose.
