Seattle made TIME Magazines annual list of the Worlds 100 Greatest Places, which was released earlier this week.
The challenges of the past year and a half have transformed our world, and few industries have been as affected as travel, tourism and hospitality TIME staff wrote. In many ways, our third annual list of the Worlds Greatest Places is a tribute to the people and businesses at the forefront of those industries who, amid extraordinary circumstances, found ways to adapt, build and innovate.
Seattle was featured alongside some of the worlds oldest and most storied cities, including Beijing, Paris, Sydney, Athens, Madrid, Venice and Berlin. It also found itself among some of the largest and most visited metros in the U.S. New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Denver.
In the Seattle feature, travel writer Stacey Leasca wrote of the citys dynamic restaurant scene, the Space Needle and the new Climate Pledge Arena, which she describes as groundbreaking.
