Average tech salaries in Seattle are the second-highest in the US

The average salaries for tech employees in Seattle are the second-highest in the nation, according to a new report from Hired.

The average tech salary in Seattle is $158,000, the report said. The only place where average salaries are higher is in San Francisco, where tech employees earn an average of $165,000.

These findings are not surprising given other reports that suggest Seattle is the fastest growing tech market in the U.S. Home to ever-expanding tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft, the city added 48,000 new tech jobs between 2016 and 2020. It’s also became a destination for the satellite offices of other major tech companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter.

The average tech salaries in Seattle are about $6,000 higher than the U.S. average, according to Hired’s report. The only other city to break the $150,000 mark for average salaries was New York City, where tech employees earn an average of $151,000.
