Several unvaccinated firefighters at the Eastside Fire and Rescue Department are slated to lose their jobs Monday are pleading with their superiors to not terminate them and are asking Gov. Jay Inslee to lift the COVID-19 vaccine mandate altogether.
The department workers are 94 percent vaccinated and time is running out on those who arent.
Fire Capt. Frank Dahlquist is a career firefighter who is ready to sacrifice that career in order to stand up against Inslee's vaccination mandate.
Although he has a religious exemption, an accommodation has not been found . So he could be out of a job.

(66,310 posts)Recently, a young woman posted "Does anyone know a P.A. training program that doesn't require vaccination?"
I responded: "Why even ask? Go get vaccinated."
Man, oh man, the anti-vaxxers landed on me like a runaway planet!
Fortunately, the bulk of the responders on the page (who are, it should be remembered, trained scientists) came to my defense and told her basically, if you're against vaccination and other proven preventives for transmissible diseases, maybe the medical profession is not for you.
Anti-vaxxers drive me crazy.
