Lynnwood man arrested after allegedly calling in threats to shoot Black, Hispanic people
SEATTLE — A Lynnwood man was arrested on Thursday and charged with making interstate threats.
Joey David George, 37, will make his initial court appearance at 2 p.m. Friday in Seattle. He is being held at a detention center in SeaTac, according to the United States Department of Justice.
According to the criminal complaint, George allegedly called a Buffalo grocery store on July 19 and July 20 and threatened to shoot Black people in the store. He also ranted about a race war, according to the criminal complaint.
The phone number used for the calls was traced back to George by law enforcement, the US Dept. of Justice said.
