Thirty years after Patty Murrays first run for U.S. Senate as a mom in tennis shoes, the Washington Democrat is seeking a sixth term.
I feel more strongly than ever that I need to be there to stand up for our families, Murray said.
Shes facing Republican Tiffany Smiley, who calls herself the new mom in town. I was 11 years old when Patty Murray was first elected, Smiley said.
Washington Republicans endorsed Smileys campaign in August 2021, which means shes already focused on taking on Murray in November.

Tiffany Smiley has no elective office experience. Patty Murray was a part of the state legislature before running for US Senate in 1992.
The only ad I've seen for Smiley was her husband telling how he lost his eyesight in Iraq.

(107,063 posts)Murray or Smiley?
No doubt Patty Murray will be there. The GOP seems to be putting a lot of money in Smiley's campaign but beyond that there are no guarantees.
