White woman calls police on Black man standing outside his Seattle area home

A white woman was recorded while calling police Wednesday to report a Black man who was standing outside his rental home in White Center.

In a roughly three-minute video, which contains profanity, circulating on social media, the woman is seen talking on the phone with police dispatch after confronting Dayson Barnes, who is Black.

“If you guys have a lease, I’d just like to see the lease,” the woman, who was not identified, told Barnes and his partner in the video. The video was posted on Reddit on Wednesday by Barnes’ partner.

The recorded interaction recalls videos reported on social media depicting white women calling law enforcement on people of color for mundane activities and innocuous behavior.

…the joke has been that White Center is the most inaccurately-named part of greater Seattle. (Its demographic is predominately African- and Asian-American.) I’m guessing Northwest Karen is a representative of the gentrification that’s overtaking pretty much the whole region.
