Former WSU coach Nick Rolovich takes first steps in suing the state

Former Washington State coach Nick Rolovich is following through with his threats to sue the state.

Rolovich was fired from WSU last October after he declined to get vaccinated, which was against Governor Jay Inslee’s COVID vaccine mandate. Four other assistant coaches were also fired.

Attorney Brian Fahling confirmed last year Rolovich did ask for a religious exemption, even saying the former WSU coach was told the exemption would not be accommodated even if it were granted.

The coach then promised he would sue the state.
