(Bolt Creek Fire) Index is being evaucated, ash is falling in Goldbar and Everet.

Smoke and ash from the #BoltCreekFire near Skykomish blowing westward toward Snohomish and King Counties. Northerly surface wind down the Sound will bring more smoke to #Seattle through the day. #wafire #wawx

*Mandatory Evacuations Issued*

@kingcosoPIO confirms #BoltCreekFire has hit @waDNR_fire Level III. Anyone from Skykomish to Index north of Hwy 2 needs to evacuate immediately. Call 911 if you need assistance. @KING5Seattle

View near where road is blocked. Lots of ash falling

Plaease excuse me if I mistype or forget to add something as I am quite jittery for I know people who live out there. This is hitting close to home.

Kind of misleading at first. I thought that perhaps a volcano went off somewhere in this area! SWBTATTReg Sep 2022 #3
No. No volcano. I updated the OP for you. icymist Sep 2022 #4

in Marysville area, the air quality is pretty bad. Have all the windows shut, an eerie orange yellow haze is hanging over. Good thing we had tons of rain this spring or I can't imagine how much worse it could be.

The scene in Sultan right now as a wildfire burns about 20 miles to the east near Skykomish. #wawx

If you are west of Index, disregard the evacuation text alert. #BoltCreekFire

This is getting confusing.

what volcano went off? I know that sometimes Mt. St. Helens lets off some steam, and that they are watching the other volcanoes in that area closely (or monitoring, the USGS) and thus, I keep an eye on things up there, I've always been fascinated w/ volcanoes and the like.

High winds from the west is moving this thing quite fast. I have now read reports of two hikers being trapped. They have a cell phone and are in contact with 911. There are also a bunch of strange evuaction alerts being sent out as close to Seattle as Bothel and Edmons. Stay tuned.

A lot of people are about to freak out - our household just got “LEAVE NOW” evacuation orders on our phones for #boltcreekfire, but we’re 45 miles west in Edmonds

Hikers trapped by new #WAfires start #BoltCreekFire. Evacuations underway from Skykomish to Index, north of US 2. Info @waDNR_fire.

If you are west of Index, from Everret to Bothel to Edmonds, ignore evucation alert messages you got.

The #boltcreekfire that erupted this AM near Baring as shown on latest sat imagery. Here is a composite image of fire temperature and visible. It is large, hot, and appears to be running. Heed all warnings! Look here for a good sat loop.
