One of Washington states Democratic presidential electors is vowing not to cast his Electoral College vote for Hillary Clinton even if she wins the state handily on Election Day. Another elector says he is considering withholding his vote.
No, no, no on Hillary. Absolutely not. No way, said Robert Satiacum, a member of Washingtons Puyallup Tribe who had supported Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders as the Democratic presidential nominee.
He had earlier told various media outlets he was wrestling with whether his conscience would allow him to support Clinton and was considering stepping aside for an alternate elector. But on Friday, he sounded firm, even if the election is close.
I hope it comes down to a swing vote and its me, he said. Good. She aint getting it. Maybe itll wake this country up.

(43,049 posts)there are alternate electors in the event he can't vote. And he will definitely be thrown out of the club.
If that seems like it is defeating the point of the electoral college, it is. But, party discipline does have something to be said for it when the alternative could be anarchy.

(110,900 posts)that I had no problem voting for Clinton. Satiacum needs to step aside in favor of an elector whose political baggage doesn't drag the party backward.
Also, If I was an elector who put Trump into office because I couldn't bring myself to vote for anybody but Sanders, I'd be anything but proud of it. What the hell is wrong with this guy?
