Related: About this forumHow are you doing with Snowmageddon?
It started before noon here, 5 inches by evening. Now we're at 10 and it's snowing pretty good again. Power was out for a few hours last night. Our dog is very excited, the chickens are living up to their name.
We're not going anywhere for a few days, except by ski or on foot. It's beautiful.
How is it where you are? Are you set and ok?

(24,585 posts)I'm over on the east slopes of the Cascades in the mountains at 1500 ft.
Have gotten about 10 inches of light and fluffy so far and still coming down!
Snow common here, and critical for the snowpack / ecosystem health in the summer.

(115,674 posts)except for a bit last week. This happens once in a while. The last few yrs have been snow free down here. It'll be great for the mt snowpack.

(31,013 posts)we're not going anywhere soon. The plows won't be in our neighborhood until tomorrow at the earliest. I went out Wednesday and stocked up so we're in good shape.

(6,261 posts)Hardly anybody has tried to drive by the house, so even the roads are pristine and white.
It looks like a winter wonderland here with all the tall pine trees, and our power is still on (knock on wood).
ETA: I see some kids with sleds outside. Nice!

(7,744 posts)to 4F. Fierce wind gusts. We're staying in and staying warm. Even our doggies just run out long enough to do their business and then come in and curl up under their blankets.

(17,569 posts)..I have never seen that warning from weather bug before! Im in a canyon on 5 acres of forest..at 2750 elevation.. so its BEAUTIFUL! Snowing hard... got another foot or so.
Lots of rigs with snowmobiles parked up at the road. Im staying in for a few days. Not going anywhere. Made a huge pot of chicken noodle soup and keeping it cool outside in the snowbank. Fed the deer and the birds and the dogs are sleeping. I think Ill sneak down and ladle me a big bowl of soup and warm it up before the pups awake.

(5,468 posts)Probably not more than 6-8 inches, though, here in the north end of Seattle (Greenwood).

(10,673 posts)It's easy for me, I grew up in the east side of WA. Driving in this stuff is rather easy, but I still want to avoid all the Newby Drivers.
The generator is ready to go.

(107,063 posts)Bought two bags of groceries and it was still quite a walk. Not so much from the weight of what I was carrying but the fact I had to step a little higher because of the snow.
