Puget Sound area expected to near 70 degrees Monday

Western Washington is expected to see the hottest temperatures so far this year over the first part of this week.

Temperatures will soar into the upper 60s on Monday and into the low 70s on Tuesday. Wednesday will cool slightly, but temperatures are still expected to be in the upper 60s.

We also have a shot at breaking a warm weather record both Monday and Tuesday at Sea-Tac Airport. The record highs for March 18 and 19 are 66 degrees (tied in 1956 and 1988) and 63 degrees (set in 1951), respectively.

However, the summer-like weather won't last long. We drop back into the mid to upper 50s by Friday with rain in the forecast.
