Seattle police respond to multiple victim shooting in Central District

Seattle Police are responding to a shooting at 23rd Avenue East and East Union Street.

Police asked people to avoid the area, which was an active scene.

Police are reporting multiple victims. KIRO 7’s Gary Horcher reports that one victim may have been transported via Lyft. SPD is looking at three shooting suspects who fled the scene. Witnesses describe the suspects’ car as a tan Chevy Malibu.

Garfield Community Center is currently locked and on heightened security, and traffic is fully blocked in both directions on E Union St between 20th Avenue East and 22nd Avenue East.

The ER at Swedish Cherry Hill Hospital is also reportedly in lockdown.

KIRO 7’s Amy Clancy reports that Harborview received two victims from the shooting — one 20 years old, the other 46 — both of whom are in “satisfactory condition.”
