King County could charge monthly for some park and ride lots

King County Council will vote this week on a plan that would bring paid parking permits to 10 of Metro's popular park and ride lots.

Daniel Rowe, the Supervisor of Research and Innovation at King County Metro, said they made this proposal because demand at park and rides is high.

"That demand has gotten so high that our park and rides are filling very early in the morning which frustrates a lot of customers," Rowe explained.

The paid permit parking would offer a reserved space from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday.
